Jericho Jerome Gawanab (21 May 1980) well known as Jericho and nicknamed J-Twizzle, is a Namibian rapper from Katutura, Windhoek.〔Graig, Augetto (2011) "(Male Artist of the Year: Jericho )", ''Namibian Sun'', 10 June 2011, retrieved 2011--07-22〕 He's one of the most successful and outstanding MC's in Namibia. His videos are played on MTV Base and Channel O. ==Career== Gawanab was imprisoned at the age of eighteen, serving four years jail term.〔 Upon his release in 2004, Jericho joined Black Market Music, (the most popular hip hop label at the time). With Black Market, Jericho recorded a few songs with Black Market producer Kanibal, which helped create him a buzz. After the release of his successful single "Check Who's Back" he left the label. He continued recording songs, and released his second popular single "Still Love U". In early 2006 he released his debut album ''Check Who's Back'', which became the first successful hip hop album in Namibia at that time and it was loved by hiphop fans. This was followed by his sophomore release ''Lights Out'' in 2007 which also topped Namibian charts . In the music industry Jericho developed close friendships with fellow musicians and appeared on their albums, including D-Naff - (''Above The Limit''), Sunny Boy - (''The Sleeping Giant''), and The Dogg - (''This Is My Time''). He also has a very close relationship with Dixon among others.
